Hi, this is The Candid Conservative with today’s minute on Uncle Ben…
One of the greatest conservative thinkers and role models in American history was Ben Franklin. This gem of a gentleman left his touch all over our world, and his 13 virtues – written at age 20 – merit a minute of attention. Consider his advice: Keep a lid on your appetites – avoid addiction to anything. Speak when it serves good purpose – otherwise listen. Live a life of order. Treat whatever you do responsibly. Use your money carefully and to good purpose. Be useful. Dedicate yourself to innocence, justice, and honesty. Do well by your fellow man. Avoid extremes – and practice moderation in all things. Be clean and present yourself with respect. Sex should come out of intimacy and intentional parenthood and never as a harm to self or others. Treat life responsibly, but never too seriously. Stay humble and embrace the model of Jesus and other noble examples – like Benjamin Franklin.
I’m Dr. Carl Mumpower and you just spent a minute with Ben and a candid conservative…
