Hi, this is conservative candor and I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower...
There was a time when unions served a purpose beyond their own self-service. The early movement centered on worker safety - their hard work and the evolution of labor laws, technology, and the culture at large secured success. The new union mission soon became securing as many golden eggs as possible from a fat goose. NPR offers an example in noting that in 2005, UAW workers in Detroit were making an average of $73 dollars an hour in salary and benefits. Fast forward to 2010 - and Detroit's murder-suicide relationship between out of touch management, incompetent government, and a union choke-hold. That city and its workers have gone from being the richest in the country to the most devastated. Death by union has helped insure the greatest mass exodus of manufacturing jobs in America's history. Unions are thriving only where they can eliminate competition. Going forward we can be assured, however, that wherever they achieve a toehold, a murder-suicide jobs program is certain to follow...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
