Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today candid conservative minute...
Though most of us take delight in criticizing our politicians, what we've got is usually what we've earned. A case in point would be the almost universal expectation that politicians promise us the things we want in exchange for our vote. An unprincipled politician hiding behind a conservative mask can mutter something about being for defense, the family, and gun rights and against taxes, abortion, big government and win the Republicon stamp of approval. Demoncrats like pretender rhetoric on being for gay rights, the poor, and abortion and against guns, racism, and war. On the basis of a few hollow promises, we elect please and appease chameleons and then wonder why things never change. Promises are easy - delivery is the tough part. Our current President is a master promise artist. PBO's theme of hope and change was constructed on fluffy pledges that have faded faster than his bumper stickers. There's a lesson in the on-going pattern of political promises made and broken - our willingness to vote for fantasy over reality assures a recurring nightmare...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you've just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
