If you’re a NY Giants fan, you’ll have to wait one more day to watch your champions take the field. The NFL, in an effort to accommodate the Democratic National Committee and President Obama, is going to postpone the season opener. There was a conflict with the game and PBO’s speech. Though it’s all political theater, there’s a difference in a State of the Union or other public appearance by the Commander-in-Chief and a Party election rally. Moving a game opener is no easy task – moving one to help reelect somebody is a bad call. With the habitual denials common to all addicts, the media disclaims any liberal bias. That’s nonsense and everyone with an ounce of retained objectivity knows it. For the NFL to join the parade is disappointing. Conservative fans might want to express their displeasure to those in charge. Still, opportunity exists in this misstep – the postponement preempts Vice-President Joe Biden’s convention speech.
